But in 1695 Scotland was an independent country, had its own Parliament. Even in disgrace, the self-styled mother of parliaments canny get its history right.

    Dinnae ken the history round 1695.

    And as a republican, it may be deemed inappropriate for me to bang on and on about this sorta stuff, but how come the current monarch's known as ER2?
